چکیده
Background: Detection of the virus or some its specific components using WHO and OIE recommended standard laboratory tests is only way to get a reliable diagnosis rabies. Brain tissue preferred specimen for post-mortem rabies in both humans animals. Higher biosecurity requirements, skill transportation facilities required collection transport brain whole carcass one reasons poor surveillance Point care testing with simple, easy operate devices would be an ideal approach providing rapid results. Methods: The study evaluated diagnostic performance two reference tests, DFAT RTPCR on skin specimen, assess suitability as alternative post mortem sample belonging different species animals (n=90) collected at necropsy were compared Fluorescent Antibody Test RT PCR, internationally approved methods diagnosis. Results: Validation RT-PCR comparison gold gave sensitivity 98% (95% CI:94.1-100) 80% (95%CI:71.8-88.2) respectively. Specificity was 100% tests. Conclusion: findings highlight potential improving especially resource countries.

In the brains of Testudo mauritanica and Clemmys leprosa (a fresh-water species) it persisted for 302 and 150 days, respectively (Rem...
